Fruit Carving for Tu'B'Shvat
Cantaloupes and radishes do not grow on trees, I know.
Read separate full illustrated story about cantaloupe:
This was the only time I'd carved a cantaloupe.
I had carved watermelons for baskets.
Tools were similar to those I'd used in wood carving and biology classes.

Scrapbook

My first attempt at decorating/framing each photo to enhance the album pages' presentation.
A loving gift I created and gave to friends in the photos, the Klaristenfelds.
I created these pages of their family, a couple months after my husband, z'l, died, 2006.
For a couple sessions, I went to WeSpark, a cancer support community.
WeSpark was the only place I felt comfortable,
and this was the first art project (out of love) I was able to do while in mourning, in grief.
As a Caregiver Angel Warrior for years, my art making had been delayed.

Digital Art
When I bought my iMac and then my MacBookPro a couple years ago, I didn't have an interest in creating digital art because I could use colored markers and paper. Now I use PhotoShop CS5 and it IS fun exploring and making personal gifts for others on my iMac, as well as decorating my personal 80 + websites.

I love creating purple Joy art!
Hmm, is that tube shape a donut, a bagel, earring, or a frame drum I love to play?
or is it the wheel of a favorite vehicle with Joy reflected in its shiny metal?

MORE DIGITAL ART

Learning Photoshop CS5's apps, with instruction, I created many pieces.

The CITY buildings were probably done partially in Illustrator and then moved into Photoshop to add the photos. (I've never used Illustrator since...)

For hours and hours, I drew all the lines in perspective to create buildings. Each wall side is separate composed with 4 lines, and each angled individually for perspective as I imagine it, like an architect. I colored my building.  I then added real building photos to MY buildings to create facades. Here's one I found from years ago, pre-facades.

An earlier project I did with both Illustrator and Photoshop is "Joy's Fantasy Room ~ There's No Place Like Home", posted else-where on this site.

This project was so frustrating that most of the remaining students finally quit, and the school cancelled the class because of only a few remaining students. Why didn't they hire a proper Grapics computer teacher instead of a music teacher after they fired the prior nasty Graphics teacher? Finally the entire computer program with 30 Apples and lots of classes was shut down. Wish I had a live local Photoshop class. Apple won't teach Photoshop!

Another learning piece I did was to create a flyer for the school's computer class.
I used images, and created the layout and test.

I thought this came out well, and personally delivered it to the school's principal.

G*d Loves Me

Outlining a radiant heart
to fill with intense red and purple
is exciting to me.

Freely splashing water
and wildly brushing layers of color onto silk
is satisfying for me.

A frosting of salty tears
add surprise and a magical marbling finale.

With a bit of a broken heart
I dance on silk, knowing
G*d loves me.

The title of art is the theme of a party that Marilyn hosted.
The theme is painted also onto a clock I own by STIX.
At 65th birthday party for Marilyn, her brother took this photo of me holding my gift.
Sadly, Marilyn died shortly after after courageously braving long illness.
Marilyn's, z'l, Yahrzeit is 22 Shvat.
I treasure my memories of this loving, generous Jewish woman, Marilyn,
and I regularly visit her grave.
